Sounds of Reading is
a different way of teaching children and adults with dyslexia or those just
struggling with reading and spelling.
This method was developed in Newcastle, Australia by Diane
Philipson, a former teacher with postgraduate qualifications
in Applied Linguistics and a wide experience with foreign languages.
It is the reverse of, and goes much further than,
traditional phonics. Teaching is from sound to letter, not
the other way round. Students are shown how all words can be sounded.
It is suitable for preschoolers to students of any age, especially
those for whom English is a second language. |
